Le Costa Rica proche d'une adhésion à l'OCDE
Le président du Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado, a annoncé le 31 mars que son pays avait passé avec succès la dernière évaluation réalisée par les différents comités de l’OCDE (Organisation pour la Coopération et le Développement Economique) dans le cadre de la procédure d’adhésion du Costa Rica à cette organisation parfois surnommée le “Club des pays riches”.

Venezuelan democracy in "terminal phase" as economic crisis deepens
Since 2014 and the fall in oil prices, Venezuela has suffered a deep structural crisis. The country is still immensely dependent on oil resources (95% of government revenues). The fall in oil prices has first triggered an economic crisis which is today turning into a democratic lockout.

In Colombia, a promising but unstable peace process
On November 30th, the Colombian Congress ratified a revised version of a long-awaited peace agreement between the government and the rebel group FARC. After a first agreement was narrowly rejected on October 2nd by popular referendum (50,2% voted against), President Juan Manuel Santos introduced a new version on November 24th.
